We arrived at the finish line and test the BMW 3 Series the most powerful current offer, the 335i with six-cylinder engine and 306 hp. Until the future launch of the next BMW M3, the 335i is the spearhead of the 3 Series (F30), the current generation.

BMW 335i

The average BMW sedan is one of the most important models, assuming up about 30% of sales of the brand in global terms. That is why BMW has developed special effort the sixth generation of one of its flagship models.

In the last few days we have been detailing little by little everything that offers this small large hatch from its aesthetic or its interior to his jewel in the form of six-cylinder engine, little thirsty for the level of benefits available. Have you lost something of the test? We summarize the most important thing.

The renewed aesthetics of BMW 3 Series makes it an even more attractive model with the public but, in truth, there is no revolution in terms of design. Even so, improve enough to say that BMW has been right with, especially with this new way of looking that, at least to us, we like so.

Inside the cabin is probably where there are most changes, not only for design and layout of instrumentation and controls, but by the major leap in quality of materials and finishes.

Perhaps one of the weaknesses of this Series 3 is the mouth of the luggage compartment, as something close to what, you can keep loading bulky items that even fit in the trunk, do not fall through the gap available. Still, the trunk is generous and has a good depth.

The best thing about the car is without doubt its engine with six cylinders in line and 3 liters of displacement. It develops 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque, but the good thing is that torque is available from 1,200 rpm, making it a very comfortable driving engine and lots and lots of force available to almost any system. Moreover, nothing is displayed thirsty for the level of services offered. We traveled more than 1,000 miles and obtained an average of 8.5 liters per hundred kilometers.

As far as dynamics is concerned, despite weighing about 1,600 kilograms, is a car with a streamlined front end, which is left to put in the corners with ease, and a rear well planted that will not give us problems unless the seek (ie, we want to go sideways instead of going from the front). It offers a smooth ride and undeniable comfort, thanks in part to the suspension and the automatic gearbox of eight relations (which should also lower consumption figures).

In this sense, the BMW 335i is a car that has two well-defined personalities. On one side is a perfect family car (not a minivan but offers enough space), he other hand is a beast that has a very full engine and dynamic qualities that would enjoy in a circuit.
