The new Peugeot 5008 is now a SUV (with seven-seater)

The Peugeot 5008 is another model that is no longer a minivan to become an SUV, in this case C-segment. This is the second generation of this Lion, presented in Europe and that has not lost its familiar scent, and which continues to offer seven seats with three rows of seats.

First, and taking into account the aforementioned transformation, the new model features a modern design based on the latest style of the French house, including an aggressive front area and a rear area with a vertical rear window space – to win interior – and a dark area where the “feline” optics. In addition, it includes the GT and GT Line versions, with sporty look.

As for size, the new 5008 has 4.64 meters long, 11 centimeters more than the previous model, with a wheelbase that experienced the same growth, reaching 2.84 m.

In the interior, and as has already happened in the 3008, the new SUV incorporated the evolution of Peugeot i-Cockpit, the driving position including high board display with 12.3″, small steering wheel and 8″ center touch display.

Created from the Efficient Modular Platform (EMP2) of the PSA Group, the new 5008 is further characterized by its modularity, since the second row can be adjusted longitudinally and change the backrest inclination to five positions. With five seats, the trunk is 780 liters (100 more than before).

Among the equipment, the model includes wireless charging for smartphones, automatic emergency braking, warning for risk of collision, active warning of involuntary change lanes, driver’s attention alert, recognition of traffic signals, blind spot monitor, parking assistant and 360° view.

For its part, the mechanics have the gasoline engines with 1.2 PureTech 130 hp and 1.6 THP 165, plus turbodiesel with 100 hp, 1.6 BlueHDi with 100 hp, 1.6 BlueHDi with 120 and 2.0 BlueHDi with 150 or 180.

The boxes are manual and an automatic, both with six gears, while traction is front and includes the Advanced Grip Control system, which improves traction control, in addition to the descents control.
