Audi A3 Ultra, also in gasoline
Declined on diesel engines to the A3, A4, A5 or A6, the Ultra name is now also available in petrol version for A3.
If the image of Audi goes largely by S and RS versions, much of its income goes through smaller engines. In this market, and to seduce the attentive to CO2 emission fleets, the range is available in Ultra version of the A3, A4, A5 and A6.
The name therefore made its appearance in the gasoline with the 1.4-liter TFSI engine with the cylinder deactivation technology. So it works on two or four cylinders as needed power. The A3 was inaugurated at the time this engine in the Volkswagen Group, in the 140 hp version.
An engine that has evolved in recent months to show 150 hp aboard the Volkswagen Polo for example, and happens to turn in the A3, causing the change of name. Apart from this small development engine, the A3 Ultra does not seem to enjoy here changes designed to further reduce CO2 emissions: no long box, specific tires, lowered ride … This does not prevent it from displaying a very good value of 109 g/km (4.7 l/100 km in the combined cycle), similar to what was proposed in the “non-Ultra” 140 hp versions.
This A3 TFSI Ultra proposed four variants (3-door, 4-door, 5-door Sportback and Cabriolet) with a manual or dual clutch (respectively 6 and 7 reports).
